The founders forecasted the huge growth potential of online shopping in India. Yepme had started its operations as an online apparel retailer. In August 2011, Yepme decided to focus on private label fashion wear instead of retailing branded apparel. The founders had decided to promote Yepme as a fashion brand to avoid disparity between online shopping and physical stores.
Yepme is targeting tier 2 and tier 3 towns of India, where people have little resources to buy other top brands. Their major orders are from the small towns and villages where there are no proper courier services. Many places have only Indian postal services.
